John Chaplin is an energy entrepreneur and infrastructure strategist with deep experience spanning power markets, project development, and capital formation. He is the founder and CEO of Ixian Industries, a software-led power company building behind-the-meter energy systems for data centers, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure.

Prior to founding Ixian, John served as Vice President of Commercial at Last Energy, where he led international market entry, structured power purchase agreements, and secured capital for next-generation nuclear projects across Europe and the UK. Before that, he was founder and principal at Olorins Capital, a self-funded private equity and advisory firm focused on operational turnarounds and technology integration in legacy sectors.

Earlier in his career, John worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, advising on over $30 billion in M&A and capital markets transactions in the global energy sector.

John holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. He lives in Austin, where he’s building a new model for energy deployment—faster, smarter, and closer to the load.
